Honourable Dr. Justice Devaraju Nagarjun was born on 15th August, 1962 to late Sri Devaraj Ramakrishna Rao and Smt. Vimala Devi at Wanaparthy town in the erstwhile Mahabubnagar district of Telangana, India. Had school education from government School, Graduated B.Sc. from RLD College, Wanaparthy town, LL.B. from SSL Law College, Gulbarga, PG Diploma in Industrialisation and Personnel Management from Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Gurlbarga, LL.M (International Law) from Osmania University. He was awarded scholarship for research in International Conflict Resolution at University of California, Berkley, United States of America during the years from 2002 to 2004. During the said period he also studied LL.M (International Law) and did post graduation degree i.e., M.A in Asian Studies from the same prestigious University of California, Berkley. He was also awarded Ph.D. in WTO-GATS and Globalisation of Legal Services in the year 2013 at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. Enrolled as an Advocate in the year 1986 and joined the office of his father Late D. Ramakrishna Rao and practised both on Civil, Criminal sides and also in Revenue Courts. Got selected as Junior Civil Judge on 1.5.1991 and worked as such at various places until promoted as Senior Civil Judge in the year 2004. He has worked as Principal Private Secretary to the Honourable the Chief Justice, worked as Assistant Director, Andhra Pradesh Police Academy, Hyderabad. Promoted as District Judge on 17.09.2010 worked in Kamareddy, Nizamabad and as Metropolitan Sessions Judge at Ranga Reddy District. In October, 2015 joined as Registrar (Administration), worked as Registrar (Recruitment) and Registrar (Judicial) in the High Court up to 2nd September, 2021. After brief stint at Metropolitan Sessions unit, posted as Registrar General of High Court with effect from 18th October, 2021 and worked as such until elevated as Judge of High Court of Telangana on 24th of March 2022. His Lordship transferred as Judge of Madras High Court and assumed charge as such on the FN of 06.04.2023.
